Mt Batulao | New – Old Trail

As we continued the sequel of our adventure after the successful traverse in Mt. Palay Palay (pico de loro), we headed back to Evercrest after the replenishing our supplies in Nasugbu Market. We reached the Evercrest around 1800H then rented a Comfort Room near the jump-off. We also took our dinner in the nearby Cafeteria.

We started our night trek around  2000H. The wind are so relaxing. The trail  is familiar to all of us as this is the second time we visited Mt. Batulao. This time, we wanted  to make it also a different,so we decided to do a traverse, from the new trail to the old trail.

After an hour of trekking, we reached the new trail campsite. We  pitched our tents quickly and started our socials.

The next day – we prepared breakfast as well as our packed lunch. After an hour of preparing, we started the traverse to old trail. We reached the summit in less than of two hours, with little time to spare. We managed to make the most of our shots and time. Then we started our descent.

We took our late lunch along the trail, and bought a refreshing Buko and Halo-Halo. The journey continues as we head to the falls near the jump-off, though that is not easy to reach because the trail going there is not visible to us. So we decided to back trail.

We had our dinner in the House of Kuya Roger, a friendly local who offered to cook for us and  offered his small house in order for us to have rest while waiting for food to be served.

Truly poor people are often most generous, because they know what it’s like to have nothing.

After dinner, we resumed our trek all the way to Evercrest. We had a small celebration for new years eve, as we end our three day adventure.

Our year ender climb was the wildest adventure as of now, Hopefully we can have more of this, as we continue our journey to the mountains.
